Kim Kyu Yeon studeerde aan de Korea National University of Arts bij Kang Choong-Mo, vervolgens aan de Universität der
Künste in Berlijn bij Klaus Hellwig, aan het Curtis Institute bij Gary Graffman en tenslotte aan het New England Conservatory bij Russell
Sherman en Byun Wha-Kyung. Ze gaf recitals en concerten in de Verenigde Staten, Duitsland, Japan, Oostenrijk, Ierland en
Australië en trad op als soliste met talrijke orkesten, zoals het Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, het KBS Symphony Orchestra, het Philadelphia
Orchestra en het RTE National Symphony Orchestra van Dublin. Ze is laureate van verschillende wedstrijden in Korea en in de Verenigde
Staten, won in 2001 de Eerste Prijs van de Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition en in 2006 de Tweede Prijs van de
Dublin International Piano Competition. In 2009 haalde ze de halve finale van de Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
Kim Kyu Yeon étudie à l’Université Nationale des Arts de Corée, avec Kang Choong-Mo, puis à l’Universität der Künste de Berlin,
avec Klaus Hellwig, au Curtis Institute, avec Gary Graffman, et enfin au New England Conservatory, avec Russell Sherman et Byun Wha-Kyung.
Elle s’est produite en soliste avec de nombreux orchestres, comme l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Séoul, le KBS Symphony Orchestra,
le Philadelphia Orchestra ou le RTE National Symphony Orchestra de Dublin. Elle a donné des récitals et des concerts aux États-Unis, au
Japon, en Allemagne, au Autriche, en Irlande et en Australie. Lauréate de divers concours en Corée et aux États-Unis, elle remporte
entre autres le Premier Prix au Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition, en 2001, et le 2e Prix au Concours
International de Dublin, en 2006. Elle est également demi-finaliste du Concours International Van Cliburn en 2009.

numerous competitions in Korea and in the U.S., including First Prize in the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano
Competition (2001) and Second Prize in the International Piano Competition in Dublin in 2006, and was a semi-finalist in the
Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009.
