Programme of the 12 finalists
Each evening, 2 finalists will perform the following works with piano accompaniment and with the National Orchestra of Belgium, conducted by Gilbert Varga:
- A sonata for violin and piano.
- An unpublished work, to be performed with the orchestra, written specially for this competition and chosen during the Queen Elisabeth Composition Competition 2008 (world premiere on 25 May 2009).
- A concerto.
The Competition’s official pianists are Scott Faigen, Thomas Hoppe, Tobias Koch, and Eliane Reyes.
The laureates will be ranked on Saturday 30 May at the end of the evening.
