Claire Huangci begon haar opleiding aan het Curtis Institute bij Eleanor Sokoloff en zet deze sinds 2007 verder bij Arie Vardi aan de Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover. Ze werd eerste laureate van de National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami in 2010 en won in 2009 het Europäischer Chopin Klavierwettbewerb in Darmstadt. In datzelfde jaar behaalde ze ook de Orpheum Music Prize in Zürich. Ze trad op als soliste met talrijke orkesten, waaronder het Filharmonisch Orkest van China, het Symfonisch Orkest van Sint-Petersburg, het Radio Symfonieorkest van Moskou, het Philadelphia Orchestra, het Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, de Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie en het Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt. Ze gaf ook recitals in Europa (Tonhalle in Zürich, Sendesaal in Frankfurt, Konzerthaus in Berlijn), China, Japan, Israël en in de Verenigde Staten (Carnegie Hall).

Claire Huangci entame sa formation au Curtis Institute, avec Eleanor Sokoloff, avant de la poursuivre avec Arie Vardi à la Hochschule für Musik und Theater de Hanovre, depuis 2007.
