Composition 2009 - work for piano and symphony orchestra [More info]
The name of the Laureate of this Competition will be published on 21 May 2010. The selected work will be premiered at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels on 24 May 2010 by the finalists of the 2010 Piano Competition and the National Orchestra of Belgium conducted by Marin Alsop.
Ray Chen has won the 2009 violin competition. Second prize is Lorenzo Gatto and third prize Ilian Garnet. Go to the laureates' page to find out more.
Ray Chen has also been awarded the Klara-Canvasprijs (prize of the public of the VRT) and Lorenzo Gatto the Prix Musiq'3-Jacques Stehman (prize of the public of the RTBF).
Composition 2008 - laureate CHO Eun-Hwa [More info]
Korean composer CHO Eun-Hwa has won the Grand Prize of The Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium for Composition 2008 - SABAM prize. Her work for violin and orchestra, Agens, has been performed at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts (Palais des Beaux-Arts) by the 12 finalists in the Violin Competition (May 2009).
